Printers in the CSB Core Laboratory

The default black and white printer from all computers in the CSB is an HP Laser Printer. Several applications such as lp, xmgr and a2ps will print to this printer by default.

Note: If you are printing an image using the lp command make sure it is ASCII Postscript and NOT a binary file. Sending a binary file will cause the printing of one line of garbage on thousands of sheets of paper!

In May-June, 2007, Core printing was reorganized using a CUPS server. System administration documents are at http://www.csb.yale.edu/sysadm/servers/printserver/0front.html .

Printing from Linux, SGI/IRIX, or Mac OSX

The following printer queues should be visible from Core linux workstations:
