Small Angle Xray Scattering (SAXS) in the CSB Core

SAXS Declined, 2006++

The below-described effort to revive SAXS in the CSB was not successful. There is no SAXS capability at this time.

Revived SAXS system of October, 2004

Data are collected on raxisb, which is a Rigaku R-Axis-IV image plate system and accompanying computer. Data are saved in image files using the standard raxis software for collecting still data.

See The Joy of SAXS (October, 2004 edition).

September, 2001 documentation for system based on Hamlin detector

SAXS data collection and processing can be performed from any Core SGI computer although, for data collection, it will be most common to use bondi, the workstation adjoining the SAXS instrument.

To access the SAXS programs, type

setup saxs

At this writing (13 September, 2001), many of the programs are experimental and changing. So don't assume that this documentation is complete or accurate.
